| Description: |
Visfatin is a novel adipokine produced by visceral adipose tissue. Visfatin is thought to be a natural insulin mimetic since is has been shown to bind to insulin receptors in liver, muscle and fat. Increased circulating plasma levels are likely to play critical roles in metabolic syndromes such as obesity and diabetes. RANDOX recombinant Visfatin comprises a 491 amino acid fragment (1-491) corresponding to the mature Visfatin protein and is expressed in E. coli with an aminoterminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use
