| Description: |
VEGF is a heparin-binding glycoprotein, which can exist
in a number of different isoforms. The protein has been
found to be a potent inducer of angiogeneis and
endothelial cell proliferation and plays an important role in
regulating vasculogenesis. VEGF can be detected in both
the plasma and serum and has been implicated in several
disease states associated with augmented angiogenesis.
RANDOX recombinant VEGF (165) comprises a 165
amino acid fragment (5-169) corresponding to the VEGF
165 isoform and is expressed in E. coli with an aminoterminal
hexahistidine tag. This product is for research
use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic
use.
