| Description: |
The lipocalins are a family of around 25 proteins
(including α1-microglobulin and β-lactoglobulin), which
are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic
substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby
serve as transporters of substances like retinal,
biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that
NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory
response and is found in the plasma of patients after
stroke.
RANDOX recombinant human NGAL is expressed in E.
coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This
product is for research use only and is not intended for
diagnostic or therapeutic use.
