Human Recombinant Protein Specification

Description: PAI-1 is a serine protease inhibitor, which can exist, either in an active inhibitory conformation or in an inactive or latent conformation. PAI-1 is produced mainly by the endothelium but is also secreted by other tissue types including adipose tissue. PAI-1 is the principal inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator and urokinase, therefore inhibiting fibrinolysis. Increased levels of PAI-1 have been linked with various conditions including cardiovascular disease, thrombosis, insulin resistance and obesity. RANDOX recombinant PAI-1 comprises a 379 amino acid fragment (24-402) corresponding to the mature PAI- 1 protein and is expressed in E. coli with an aminoterminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
Form: Liquid. Supplied in 1x Laemmli Buffer (25mM Tris-HCl pH6.8, 50mM DTT, 1% (w/v) SDS, 0.1% (w/v) Bromophenol Blue, 2.5% Glycerol).
Purity: Single band on Western blot
