| Description: |
Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins (14-15kDa) that bind long chain fatty acids, their CoA derivatives, billiruben, organic anions and other small hydrophobic molecules. They are abundantly present in various cell types and due to their small size rapidly leak from damaged cells leading to a rise in serum levels. RANDOX recombinant IL-FABP comprises a 128 amino acid fragment (1-135) corresponding to the human ileal FABP protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
